::::: There are 2 content theft awareness campaigns going on today and tomorrow.
As you may or may not know, content theft is out of control in our virtual world and nothing is being done by our "government". They are more concerned with rating "mature" content in an already 18+ environment, probably forced to by concerned parents yelling "law suit" because their under-age kid found a way to enter an adult environment and being exposed to pictures of naked bodies and/or sexually explicit content. It's a shame when a government has to take over the parent's job while its own legal, mature residents are being victimized and need help.
Sorry but that's how I think about it.

Anyway, I just read my dear friend Sasy's blog post about her experiences with theft, and it brought me to tears because as a content creator, I KNOW how it feels, and I can honestly say that being stolen from so blatantly and disrespectfully (the thieves laugh in your face and are proud of it) feels like being raped.
Read it here.

The campaigns ask to not upload or buy anything inworld, better yet, don't even log on, on november 5 and 6, to send a message to Linden Labs.
You can read the experiences and opinions on content theft from noted content creators HERE.

If you are wondering how it is even possible to steal in SL, I'm not going to elaborate, but there are certain tools and third party viewers which enable it.
I'd rather elaborate on how to spot theft, and ask all our customers to check what you buy and where you buy it. If it looks familiar, double check who the creator is, and report any suspicions to the original creator.
You can find out how to do that HERE.

If content theft is allowed to continue and grow, there will be no new original content left, and legit creators will leave.

I will not upload or buy anything today and tomorrow, and therefor am moving the release of my new skin line to saturday, november 7. I hope you all understand, and will stand with us.
